Transportation Malta

Malta International Airport, also known as Luga Airport, lies 5 kilometers from the capital Valletta. The airport is an important gateway to Malta for international tourists coming and going to/from over 67 diffrent destinations. Fully refurbished in the early 1990’s, the facility now ensure complementary services such as shuttles to the major cities, tickets for taxis, extensive disabled facilities and business services.

Information and help Desks:   
•    General service counter (tel: +356(0)2124 9600)

Airport facilities:   
•    There is a counter for lost and found items in the Arrivals Hall.
•    Banks, exchange office, a post office and ATMs.

Business Facilities:   
•    There are three lounges offring facilities such as fax, telephone and internet.
•    A new business Centre is developping next to the Terminal building. It is planned for the late 2011.

Facilities for the disabled:   
•    The airport offers wheelchair ramps, adapted elevators, restrooms and telephones, in addition to dedicated parking spaces.

Hotels:   
•    There are no hotels at the airport. In the Arrivals Hall there is a counter for hotel information and reservations.

Shops and Restaurants:   
•    There is an important range of stores, snack bars and cafes.

Other services:   
•    Computers with internet connection, Wi-Fi internet access in the post office.

PARKING AT THE AIRPORT 

•    There is 650 parking spaces in the airport ; the first ten minutes are free, up to three hours parking costs €1.40, the first day costs €4.65 and €2.90 per day thereafter.  

AVAILABLE TRANSPORTATION AT THE AIRPORT

Bus:   
•    Bus line 8
•    Shuttle bus service to Cirkewwa.

Taxi:   
•    In the Arrivals Hall there is a counter where you can purchase tickets for the taxi, there are fixed rates for all destinations in Malta it costs €13.98 to Valletta.

Car rental:   
•    Alamo, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National, Sixt and Thrifty.

There are no railways in Mauritius.
