Tourist guide Mauritius
Situated in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is a spectacular volcanic formation and island of coral reefs, lagoons and palm-edged beaches. It has become a popular destination for tourists from all around the world. Mauritius is a social, democratic and economic success story with various cultures and traditions flourishing together in peace. Mauritius developed from a low-income, agriculturally-based economy to a modern, diversified economy with growing industrial, financial, service and tourism sectors. Like a sparkling crystal in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius is the most accessible island with nearly 50 weekly flights to and from all major European cities. Though located close to Africa, its greatest cultural influences have come from its ties to Britain and France. It is home to some of the world’s most rare plants and exotic animals. The island enjoys a great tropical climate with mild temperatures all year round. Mauritius has a great ecotourism sector and is quickly becoming a centre for upmarket tourism and incentive travel.
