Lisbon Portela Airport is located just 7 km / 4 miles to the north of the Portuguese capital. It is the largest airport in Portugal, handling in excess of 10 million passengers each year through its two terminals. Established in the early 1940s, Lisbon Portela Airport is surrounded by an urban landscape and is located alongside Campo Grande, Encarnacao, Lumiar, Musgueira and Teresinhas.

Money and communications: Facilities include a bank and a post office in the Departures area and bureaux de change in the Departures and Arrivals areas. ATMs and Internet access points are available throughout the airport.
Business Facilities

Disabled Facilities
There are ramps, lifts, specially adapted telephones and toilets. Wheelchairs can be provided by airlines and airline staff can also help wheelchair passengers through customs and immigration; passengers should request any special assistance upon booking a ticket.
Disabled car parking spaces are available. There are two lifts to take passengers to different levels.

There are short- and long-term parking options.
P1 and P2 are short-term car parks with direct access to the terminal.
P1 is located near Departures and P2 is next to Arrivals. P3 is a long-term outdoor car park.
The short- and long-term car parks are located to the right of the terminal at the entrance to the airport. A free airport bus shuttle service links the car parks and the terminals.

The CARRIS AeroBus 91 runs to the city centre and to the Cais do Sodré railway station.
Local buses 5, 22, 44, 45 and 83 serve several destinations in and around central Lisbon.
Taxi
Metered taxis are available 24 hours a day, the taxi rank is situated outside the Arrivals and Departures areas.
Car rental

Santa Apolónia, opened on 1 May 1865, is the oldest railway terminus in Lisbon, Portugal. It is situated in the city's central part on the bank of the Tagus river in the historical district of Alfama. The station is served by the national rail company CP (train timetables in English and online tickets, including the high-speed train Alfa Pedular) and operates different suburban, national- and international routes (such as to Paris and Madrid).

One of the most stunning modern sights in Lisbon is Oriente Station. It was built by master architect Santiago Calatrava with a roof of glass and steel made to look like a row of trees. It houses a railway station, a metro, and a bus terminal. The entrance to the metro platform has huge tile murals designed by some of the best local contemporary artists.The station will soon be expanded to become the main terminal of the high speed train service planned for Lisbon, and as the city's first stop for the train arriving from the future Lisbon Airport to be built across the river.
