The first award event for M.I.C.E. sector in Turkey
Ace of M.I.C.E. will gain prestige for Turkish companies on international basis

1st Congress, Meeting and Event Awards (Ace of M.I.C.E.) organized in order to select the best representatives of the Turkish M.I.C.E. sector will be distributed on February 10, 2012. The jury comprising of 38 experts, who will gather on January 27 to select the “Aces” of 3 main sectors in 30 categories, will select the first three out of every category. The winner of each category, determined within the frame of creativity, concept studies, service quality, contribution to the representation of the country and works of maintainable tourism, will be announced at the award ceremony in front of 1200 guests.

The first Ace of M.I.C.E. Awards is organized by Turizm Medya Grubu, which release the magazine Kongre&Toplant? Rehberi ve M.I.C.E. (Congress & Meeting Guide and M.I.C.E.). The awards are intended to bring out and develop the potential of congress and meeting tourism in Turkey, which recently has made a great progress worldwide and is moving forward to be a giant sector.

The competition includes hotels, meeting centers, meeting management and meeting support companies, events, corporate social responsibility projects, the companies which hold festivals and guerrilla activities; the award event will be held on February 10, 2012.

The jury, which will include 38 experts from brands and associations well known both in Turkey and worldwide, such as Turkcell, Coca Cola, Türk Telekom, Novartis, Ülker, Roche, Entertainment Industry Association of Turkey, will evaluate the nominees in terms of creativity and concept studies, references, service quality, contribution to the representation of the country and works of maintainable tourism. The applications to be placed will earn international prestige bonus for the companies.

Volkan Ataman, Responsible for Ace of M.I.C.E. Awards and General Manager of Turizm Medya Grubu, emphasizes that they have begun the countdown for the award event and says, “1200 guests from the M.I.C.E. (Meeting, Incentive, Congress, Events) sector will attend the event. There are also international guests in the Ace of MICE organization. The chairmen of ICCA, SITE, IAPCO and MPI, the biggest corporations of world’s congress sector, have also been invited. This international organization and the awards will be very prestigious on the international basis.”

“Turkish congress and business tourism will make a smooth progress”

Volkan Ataman says, “Congress tourism makes up 30% of the pie. According to the reports of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) dated 2010, Turkey has ranked 20th in the congresses organized in countries. ?stanbul has gone up from 17th to 7th among congress cities. According to ICCA 2010 data, there are over 7 thousand congresses to be brought to Turkey and most of them have not arrived yet. Furthermore, Turkey is an assertive destination for Incentive meetings.”

Ataman adds, “Turkey, with its central position, direct flight possibilities, professional approaches, first class facilities and meeting management companies, is one of the most eligible conference centers. Our potential is great and it is important to work towards realizing that potential.” He underlined that Ace of M.I.C.E. Awards will contribute greatly to the development of congress tourism in Turkey.
