Guangzhou International Travel Fair has been recognized as one of the most important significant annual international travel fairs in the Asia-Pacific Region for its extensive influence upon the tourism industry and related industries at home and abroad.

Covering a total display area of 15,000 sqm, GITF 2009 attracted 460 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions. Embracing its 17th anniversary this year, GITF 2009 enjoyed a tremendous upgrade in its internationalization. The number of overseas exhibitors achieved a record high, accounting for 45% of the total exhibiting companies. Apart from traditional exhibitors from Australia, Austria, Cuba, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanke, Saipan, Thailand, Turkey, U.A.E, Vietnam, Tunisia, Tanzania, Switzerland, Singapore, Qatar, South Africa, Kenya, China Hong Kong and China Macau, some new faces such as US, Belgium, Czech Republic, Fiji, Tahiti, Mexico Chile, Morocco, France as well as Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia-Pacific Cities (TPO) also made their debut at the show, once again consolidating the irresplaceable status of GITF as one of the most important tourism trade fairs in Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, organizers will do their utmost to invite domestic and overseas buyers as well as professionals from the major customer market, so as to meet the exhibitor’s needs that their products are better purchased and promoted. Nowadays, the whole market development in Guangzhou is the focus of the professional buyers, not only from outbound tourism but also inbound tourism.
