A Brand New Web Portal, Congress Card and Meeting Planner Guide

Starting from October 2010 is online the new website of the Florence Convention Bureau (FCB), a useful portal of information and tourist services that wants to become the Florentine point of reference for national and international operators specialized in the meeting industry. Starting from a very intuitive home page, the new layout is organized according to six big pictures that underlines the beauty and importance of Florence as synonymous of history, art, culture, Tuscany, and also of congresses and events. The site provides new important services basically represented by the Congress Card and the Meeting Planner Guide.

Congress Card is a service card free downloadable from the FCB site, created for conference participants to give them a better stay in Florence. The card gives several discounts and special offers for entry to museums, cultural sites, shops, clubs, restaurants, spas, golf, guided tours, taxi, bicycle or car rental, airport transfers and other services. The Card can be used by the delegates and family members and accompanists, with the added advantage of being valid in the days immediately before and after the congress of reference. Get it is very easy: just connect to the FCB site and print it!

Meeting Planner Guide is a brand new area of the FCB website that makes available a complete mapping of meeting and congress structures and locations of the Province of Florence as well as solutions and guidance based on information requested. Hotels, restaurants, museums and historic buildings, convention centers and exhibition areas, are all at your fingertips, described in simple tabs, showing pictures, technical specifications, services offered, vacancies, position, and historic-artistic mentions. The Meeting Planner Guide also gathered and recorded, for the first time, the tabs of all the museums, palaces, and institutional venues of Florence and its suburb.

Partnership agreement between FCB and FirenzeFiera
The link between the Florence Convention Bureau and the FirenzeFiera company becomes longer. The Board of Directors of both companies have found a common ground to agree on an important partnership for operational and commercial activities of congress acquisition, management and promotion. This collaboration marks a decisive step forward for the promotion of conference facilities in Florence. The agreement was announced to the FCB members, during the presentation of the Plan of Activities 2010, held October 20 at Palazzo dei Congressi, the Florence Fair headquarters. The choice of this location is symbolic of the interaction and dialogue that will lead to the agreement, according to the will of both presidents, Giacomo Billi (FCB) and Carlo Bossi (FirenzeFiera). The partnership will concern the submission of candidatures and the acquisition of conferences and events, in addition to romotional activities, starting from the EIBTM 2010 meeting in Barcelona, from November 30 to December 2.
