A momentous year for IMEX Frankfurt

May 22-24, 2012 marks the 10th anniversary edition of IMEX Frankfurt, a tradeshow that "innovates, inspires and presents new opportunities for the global meetings industry".

IMEX 2011 was the biggest yet. Last year’s tradeshow received 3,500 exhibitors from 157, and nearly 3,900 hosted buyers from 68 countries, for a grand total of 9,000 visitors throughout 3 days. Since IMEX is the international trade fair for the meetings and events industry, IMEX 2012 promises to be yet another unique experience and will certainly outdo last year’s numbers.

IMEX 2012 will incorporate additions and improvements across the board. This includes free Wi-Fi to all exhibitors, hosted buyers, visitors and press throughout the exhibition! Visitors can expect more exhibitors from more diverse destinations like Colombia, Costa Rica and Sri Lanka, while hosted buyers will benefit from new exhibitor presentations. Everyone is welcome to the larger Technology Pavilion and Tech Tap.

In cooperation with the Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC), IMEX has taken big steps towards sustainability. The IMEX Green Team (launched in 2010) is in full force for delegates throughout the show, encouraging waste reduction and the use of sustainable energy at exhibits.

IMEX Hosted Buyers are typically incentive groups/agencies, although they come from all industries. This year, Hosted Buyer registration is more popular than ever, including companies like Samsung, Sanofi, BP and Ferrari. Seminars will be presented in both English and German throughout the tradeshow from the traditional organizations like ICCA, MCI and Ovation Global DMC. More technology seminars will appear this year, from companies like EventMobi, QuickMobile and the Chartwell Group.

IMEX educational attractions feature over 100 FREE sessions and workshops, including the new visionary Events Series for particular events that have gone beyond the traditional boundaries of the meetings industry.
