AIME higher in Melbourne

31/01/2012

This year’s AIME conference looks set to be the number one event in the Australia and Asia-Pacific region for the meetings, incentive, and events industry. 2012’s conference will showcase destinations, venues and a wide range of products and services from all parts of the region. This year AIME will take place 21-22 February at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, Australia.

With a guest list of up to 850 exhibitors and 3500 visitors expected to attend this year, there should be high levels of returning visitors and conference guests which is a promising sign of the event's success rate. The organizers hope that AIME will help its visitors to discover a wide range of destinations, suppliers and industry contacts with a view to create innovative and resourceful approaches for all types of event planning. AIME is billed as being the event for those companies wishing to expand further east in their business pursuits and invest in this rapidly growing region. The event, held by Reed Travel Exhibitions is to showcase the latest services in the “Tiger economies” and the biggest trends in business-services industry. The prestigious event has won the esteemed 'Exhibition of the Year' award at the Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) National Awards over the previous three years and it seems like this year’s event will be just as good as the last ones. The event is considered the best place to discover the latest ideas, network with the right people and develop your business by some industry experts.

The exposition will present a wide range of benefits to its visitors such as a platform for personal contact with existing clients and potential future business partners, a platform for visitors and decision makers from event management companies and the promise of a host of sponsorship and branding opportunities to maximise a company’s market exposure.

From the website and the information provided, there seems to be strong emphasis on networking prospects for visitors and exhibitors alike. The show floor will be available for Exhibitor Networking Drinks on the opening day from 4:30pm to 6pm. This will give all present a great deal more opportunities to network with current and budding business contacts. Exhibitors have been encouraged to put on some form of hospitality to persuade visitors and hosted buyers to their stalls to network and conduct business on a personal level. This could be a vital lifeline for companies considering the estimated average total expenditure per 2011 Hosted Buyer was over US$407,279! Melbourne is definitely the place to be this February for the MICE industry businesses with an eye for the East.
