British Airways values environmentally friendly planes
20/01/2009 United KingdomThe airline recently announced its purchase of 11 new “green planes.”
Thanks to 6 Embraer 170 and 5 Embraer 190SR Efficiency Jets (E-Jets), British Airways customers can rest assured they are flying a “greener” plane and travel more comfortably all at the same time. The 170s will improve carbon dioxide emissions by up to 56% and the 190s by up to 28%. The new planes also feature “double-bubble” fuselage design, allowing more personal space, and are 4 abreast, giving all passengers the option of a window or aisle seat. British Airways is the first airline to announce the services of Embraer 170 and 190SR E-Jets to London City Airport. The new planes will take flight in September 2009 and will fly exclusively to Scotland, Europe and Ireland. www.britishairways.com
