SHANGHAI, CHINA (27 November, 2011) - Grand Hyatt Shanghai recently hosted its first Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to open the festive celebration season. From 27 November 2011 until the end of the year a series of festive activities are available for Shanghai residents and visitors to choose from.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held at Patio, the world’s highest hotel atrium on the 56th floor of Grand Hyatt Shanghai. More than 200 guests joined an afternoon, full of singing, great food and lots of festive spirit. Carols choir from Dulwich College Shanghai, led by Ms. Joanne Brooke, treated all guests to a series of carols to welcome the festive season. General Manager Mr Foued EL Mabrouk, also delivered a short speech to welcome every guest who attended the event, followed by the tree lighting together with Imogene Jones, Choir Captain from Dulwich College, which was the highlight of the afternoon. The guests then enjoyed festive food and drinks, including Champagne, hot chocolate, mulled wine, gingerbread and Christmas Stollen.
