Fairmont HotelsFrom Egypt to Abu Dhabi and China, the hotel chain opens simultaneously three new properties, situated on the antique Silk Road
Among them, the Fairmont Yengchang Lake in Kunshan, in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, birthplace of the ancient Chinese opera Kun. Open door to the local culture, the hotel, with its 200 bedrooms of 12 different categories, possesses various meeting rooms including the 1,200 sqm Grand Ballroom offering a scenic view on the lake; a health club and a fitness centre, a Chinese restaurant (2,000 sqm) whose chef concocts Chinese delights made of crab, lobster or duck. In an eco-friendly perspective, the hotel provides meeting planners with an Eco-Meet programme composed of sustainable practices on four levels: accommodation, programming, service and cuisine. Fairmont will pursue its journey on the Silk Road with the openings of new hotels by 2010 in Shanghaï, Jaïpur and Mecca.
