German Convention Bureau and CO2OL united for climate-friendly events
03/11/2009 GermanyAware of the necessity for events to go green, especially in view of climate change, Germany, as a leading European green destination, takes one step further
The GermanConvention Bureau and the solutions provider for eco-friendly events CO2OL grant internauts with a new calculator, available on the GCB’s website, which evaluates the carbon footprint of events. “Not only is the German government setting standards in environmental protection and energy efficiency worldwide, German convention centres are also among the international pioneers” rejoices Lutz P. Vogt, Managing Director of the GCB. Apart from the calculator, CO2OL also gives meeting planners advice on the best practices for reducing CO 2 emissions and how to offset them to strive towards climate-friendly meetings. Its latest tool is a web platform informing the events attendees about green mobility.
