Green urbanism at the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte

Ritz-Carlton Charlotte First LEED-designed new hotel in Charlotte, the establishment which opened on October 1st was built in order to achieve LEED Gold Certification
Its green vegetated roofmade of 18,000 plants insulates the building which uses 30% less energy than aconventional hotel. The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte is also equipped with an in-house water purification and container system, an air transfer device and a hotel Bike Valet which comprises 150 bicycle parking spaces, bikes for hotel guests and bicycle maintenance, and even employees uniforms are made of fabric derived from generated plastic bottles. Located in the heart of the town, the hotel features 146 rooms and more than 1,000 square meters of meeting spaces furnished with tables designed using recycled aluminium. The BLT Steak, for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, serving meat and fresh seafood, offers 74 seats and a private dining room for up to 20 guests.
