ICCA Research Sales & Marketing in Gdańsk! Over 100 ICCA worldwide members met in Gdansk!

Last week (July 6th-9th) one of the most important meetings industry events of the year - ICCA Research Sales and Marketing Programme was held in Gdansk, Poland! Over 100 ICCA members from all over the world met in Gdansk to network and exchange their experience.

ICCA, International Conference & Congress Association, is one of the most prominent organizations in the world of international meetings. GCB is a member of ICCA since August 2007. Due to the importance of the event many cities around the world are applying for the possibility of organizing the conference and would like to invite participants to their city. This year's ICCA enabled each delegate's personal priorities to be directly addressed. Main theme for the programme were: improving your presentation skills, winning PR Media game, social media, building long-term relationships with your clients, finding potential clients through ICCA Database and using major sporting and cultural events to boost conference business - session run by local host Anna Gorska (Gdansk Convention Bureau CEO) as Gdansk is preparing to host EURO 2012! Later on delegates had an opportunity to join practical workshops on RFP, where they were divided into groups and prepared presentation. In a meantime they could meet faculty at session One on One. ICCA encouraged all delegates to bring their marketing materials to Gdansk and receive a feedback on it. The best hidden secret of the ICCA Research, Sales & Marketing Programme was the Business Exchange where delegates exchanged business leads. It's the easiest way to find new clients for destination!

Delegates were offered an interesting social programme: Welcome Cocktail in the Mercure Hevelius Hotel, Networking Dinner in Artus Court, Farewell party at the beach and guided walking city tour. Those were sponsored by: Gdansk Convention Bureau, Poland Convention Bureau, Gdansk City Hall, City of Sopot and Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship. Same time Gdansk hosted another events: World Volleyball League Finals, Baltic Sail and of course meetings because of Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Gdansk is preparing now for another conference: ICCA Central European Chapter meeting to be held from 25 - 27 August 2011!

This year's chosen local charity for ICCA Research, Sales & Marketing Programme was the Gdansk Social Innovation Foundation - Home on Trakt. This is a safe haven for 2-11 year olds who have suffered from neglect in their family homes, where their health, welfare, and sometimes lives have been put at risk. ICCA encouraged everyone to bring toiletries for the children and sweets - a rare treat in the home.
