ICCA research, sales and marketing programme conquered Vilnius, now it is time for Gdańsk, Poland!

On July 14th – 17th, 2010 another ICCA Research, Sales and Marketing Programme took place. This year we were invited to Lithuania capitol – Wilnius. Poland was strongly represented by: Anna Górska, Beata Pawłowska, Marta Wiśniewska from Gdańsk Convention Bureau, Karolina Gajewska (Convention Bureau of Poland) and Magdalena Hołowińska (Warsaw Convention Bureau).

This year’s Research, Sales & Marketing Programme was totally redesigned to enable each delegate’s personal priorities to be directly addressed. During 3 days training Gdańsk Convention Bureau team participated in 16 lectures, seminars and workshops. Main theme for this year programme were: improving your presentation skills, negotiating with clients, how to make study tours success full and fruitfull, ICCA database new features, stretching budgets for maximum effect, building better relations within Destination, perfect destination PR, new directions in meeting industry, etc. What’s more delegates had a chance to join practical woprkshops on RFP and BIDs, where everyone practice responding to real RFPs, learned how to identify gaps in the clients' requirements, discussed how best to respond to specific requests. At the workshop we received feedback from clients who actually wrote exact RFPs. We learned about what they were really looking for.

ICCA encouraged all delegates to bring their work to Vilnius. We benefited from the networking, the education programme and the Business Exchange,  but we also had chance to work on our local projects, exchange problems and receive feedback and advice from speakers and clients. What is worth mentioning all delegates were provided with a Spotme device which facilitated networking, the Business Exchange and messaging. Device was very helpful especially while exchanging business cards.

On a last day Gdańsk Convention Bureau had a chance to present Pomerania Region to all delegates and invite them for next year conference in Gdańsk.
