12/05/2009 United KingdomEpsom Downs’s racecourse, in the South of England, has just celebrated the inauguration of its new Grandstand, named the Duchess’s Stand in honour of the Duchess of Cornwall
This new stand, which can welcome up to 11,000 people, can receive a lot of events in its various flexible spaces. On the ground floor, conferences, expositions or product launches can be held in the Oaks Hall (1 123 sqm) which can cater up to 800 guests for dinner. On the first floor, a 1 048 sqm space which can be divided into 3 smaller rooms hosts dinners for 600 persons as well as on the second and last floor, 14 private boxes can host smaller events, and the Downs Suite View is dedicated to prestigious events with a dramatic view on the racecourse. This new stand is the last realization of a renovation programme which includes a 120-room Holiday Inn Express hotel opened in September.
