More AMEX benefits for business travelers

The American Express Corporate Platinum Card now has 2 new benefits: Global Entry and Gogo in-flight WiFi. The aim is to move business travelers quickly through airports and to keep them connected during flights.

So what does this mean?

Free Global Entry membership means no more waiting in long passport lines when re-entering the United States! Offered at 20 major airports nationwide and others in Canada, Global Entry is made possible by the United States Customs & Border Protection (CBP). Only for pre-approved and low-risk travelers, of course.

Simply apply for the Global Entry membership, which is valid for 5 years, and pay the 100us application fee (a credit later covers this expense).

Free Gogo in-flight WiFi means that within the continental United States, complimentary internet is available on approximately 1200 planes! Once again, this pass must be purchased separately, though the buyer is eventually credited. American Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways are only a few of many participating.

Unfortunately the pass is only good for one flight.

These additional benefits join an array of others already designed to increase business travelers’ comfort and efficiency while also curbing corporate expenses. These benefits include flight and hotel discounts, baggage insurance, airport club access, concierge services, and roadside assistance.
