As part of the ancient spice route, Malaysian cuisine is heavily influenced by neighboring countries. Though rice and chili are always popular dishes, Malaysia is a gastronomical paradise.

Kuala Lumpur is one of three federal territories; it is an enclave of the state of Selangor.
