New A330s for Air Pacific

Air Pacific is Fiji’s national carrier and the proud new owner of three fuel-efficient A330-200 aircraft, to be delivered in 2013.

The current Air Pacific fleet consists of B747s and B767s. The airline’s goal has been to modernize the fleet and simultaneously optimize their client network to ensure future growth in the market. The A330 was selected after much consideration and the thorough evaluation of other aircraft, including the B787, to renew and expand the Air Pacific fleet.

The A330 will operate the Air Pacific routes from Fiji to Los Angeles as well as throughout the Asia-Pacific region to Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.

The A330 was chosen because of its impressive fuel-efficiency, which will allow Air Pacific the highest productivity available in this aircraft category. Its operational flexibility allows the vessel to serve a wide range of route structures, lowering operating costs per seat.

Plus, its wide-body makes the vessel comfortable and versatile, able to accommodate seat, class and entertainment options to satisfy a diverse range of customer requirements.

Dave Pflieger, Managing Director and CEO of Air Pacific states that he is “…confident that our customers and visitors to Fiji will be excited about the outstanding comfort and capability of these outstanding new aircraft.”

And so is Airbus. The European company has already received over 1100 orders for the A330 line, including a freighter, military transport, as well as tanker alternatives.

In particular, French President Nicolas Sarkozy will be traveling to the G20 Summit in an A330-200, cleverly named “Air Sarko One”.
