New technologies: a decisive step to improve the attendee experience

In the first report of the global study “Convention 2020” conducted by Fast Future for ICCA and IMEX, 46% say that compared to today, in 20 years, their company or organisation will be unwilling to allow staff to travel to as many conferences and exhibitions as they do at the moment in order to save time and money. This is why it is vital to develop efficient and tailor-made tools designed to improve the attendee experience at more varied and interactive events.
59% of the respondents confess that their company will be investing far more money in alternatives to conferences and exhibitions than they do today. According to that same survey, among commonplace technologies in 2020, we will find: live video streaming to remotely situated participants, a social network before, during and after the event, all presentations and videos downloaded to mobile, technology that stimulates our senses, and 3D capture and replay of conference sessions, etc. A fast growing market, IT technologies offer new opportunities to meeting planners.
