W Barcelona This avant-gardist building, designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill, has been inspired by the city’s artistry and exuberance
Overhanging the sea, the sail-shaped building, which opened its doors on 1st October, is situated at Nova Bocana, along Barcelona’s waterfront and offers 473 rooms including 67 suites, 2 WOW suites and an Extreme WOW suite spread over 26 storeys. Meeting planners can use the 2 500 sq m of meeting and event spaces which comprise the Great Room and its seaview. The hotel also boasts a signature restaurant directed by the Michelin-stared Catalan Chef Carlos Abellán and serving the best of Barcelona’s gastronomy. On the services side, The Whatever/Whenever service, the hallmark of the brand, provides the guests with whatever they want, whenever they want. The WBarcelona is the third W hotel in Europe, Africa and Middle East, after the opening of the W Istanbul and the W Doha Hotel & Residences this year.
