Sofitel moves into Abu Dhabi

The final quarter of 2011 will see the opening of the new Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, the brand’s first property in the city.

Part of the Capital Plaza complex, the hotel will enjoy a privileged location on the eastern tip of the Corniche Road, which is one of Abu Dhabi’s most prestigious districts. It will therefore be the ideal base for visits to the cultural attractions which are currently under construction on nearby Saadiyat Island, including the Louvre and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Yas Island, home of the state-of-the-art Formula 1 circuit and the new Ferrari World theme park, and Reem Island, where the city’s new business district is being developed, are also within easy reach of the new hotel.

It will boast 282 rooms and suites, all of which will feature a glorious view of the Corniche and all the latest technology. Among these guestrooms are 48 suites and 57 rooms which provide access to the exclusive Club Millesime Lounge, located on the top floor of the hotel.

Further facilities include the fantastically well-equipped Sofitel So Spa and So Fit, which offer guests the chance to indulge themselves with 5 treatment rooms, 2 hammams with private bath, a scrub and deep relaxation room, a dry sauna and steam room. There will also be a swimming pool and a whirlpool on the roof, and a wide variety of restaurants and bars providing a range of different international cuisines.

The Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche will also boast its own conference center with independent access. With a meeting space of 2600 square meters and exceptional flexibility, it is able to cater for groups of all sizes, from 15 to 1,000 participants.
