U.S. Medical Association Goes 3D

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is the world’s largest association of radiologists, and has just signed an agreement with Digitell to make its annual meeting a 3D virtual event.

From November 27 through December 2, at the McCormack Place in Chicago, the RSNA will fulfill its desire to “be part of [the] future right now”.

The customizable 3D event will become a “Virtual Campus”, incorporating a replication of the 2011 RSNA society's Annual Meeting space, which includes the RSNA Plaza, a networking lounge, meeting rooms, 14 ‘Case of the Day’ kiosks, vendor showcases and auditorium, and the Arie Crown Theater (location of the session’s live streaming).

Digitell, Inc. is an RSNA digital partner and a leading multimedia enterprise. The company was chosen for this project because of its flexible platform that provides exciting engagement while simultaneously interfacing with RSNA’s electronic presentation system. Users will be immersed into 3D with the abilities to create a personal avatar and navigate around the space. Additionally, users will be able to view videos, download documents and other social media, and gain CME credits.

Quite the trend-setter in 3D virtual showcasing, the RSNA and its corporate partners are expecting a grand turnout.

Interactive web access will be available to engage those not-so-tech-savvy friends, as well as those unable to access the 3D Virtual Campus, which only accepts PCs. Sorry Mac users!
