In a nutshell...
The East London International Convention Centre (ELICC) is the first beachfront international convention centre for Southern Africa. Its unique geographical position allows it to become a central convergence point between all the major centres of South Africa. This flexible multi-functional venue is set to raise the profile of the province as a major Business Tourism role player, in local and international markets. It is also aimed at stimulating economic growth in the city of East London, or eMonti as it is fondly referred to by the Xhosa speaking locals. The ELICC is positioned on the Esplanade, a mere 15 min drive from the East London Airport, the Industrial Development Zone and all major industries. It offers a fresh Eastern Cape alternative to the business tourism sector, both local and international. The complex is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and can accommodate breakaway sessions, presentations, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, cocktail and banqueting events. These can accommodate from small meetings for groups of 10 to School Room style conferencing for up to 1,400 delegates. The largest room is able to accommodate 2,150 delegates. This superbly positioned beachfront complex also incorporates the 4/5 star, Premier Hotel EL ICC. The Hotel boasts 260 guest bedrooms ranging from executive suites to presidential suites. The Hotel offers panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, from East London's river port harbour, to the Eastern coastline towards the Wild Coast. The 175 guest bedrooms of the adjacent Premier Hotel Regent, form part of the complex. Combined, the two hotels offer over 400 rooms on site and a range of accommodation options to complement the Convention Centre.
