The Belvue museum, is housed in the former 18th century luxury hotel, which was also at one time a royal residence. The museum reveals the history of Belgium and its Dynasty from the popular uprising in 1830 to the federal state of today. Milestones from Belgian history, such as the struggle for universal suffrage, the World Wars and the Royal Question, the Golden Sixties and the recent constitutional reforms are presented. The Belvue museum has a restaurant with a summer café in the garden, and museum shop. Underneath the BELvue museum are remains of the 12th-century Coudenberg Palace, which costs extra to visit!
