The Windy City is now home to the new Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, whose official opening was just 3 weeks ago. You can find the modern Aqua Tower, designed by Jeanne Gang (Studio Gang Architects), near Lake Michigan and Millenium Park in the Lakeshore East community.
The building’s architecture is impressive. Standing 81 stories high, most levels are trimmed with wave-like architectural slices serving as balconies. The terraces vary from floor to floor in both size and shape, depending upon the view and the need for solar shading.
The Aqua tower combines residential and commercial space with the hotel, giving the first 18 floors to the Radisson “Blu”, while the other 63 floors house condos.
Radisson’s “Blu” family is the high-end brand of design-destination hotels, already impressing travelers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The high-speed internet, express laundry service, and late checkout are convenient, but they hardly compare with the hotels other unique amenities.
The Blu Aqua features a screening room, an 8,000 ft2 fitness center, an indoor basketball court and indoor lap pool! Head to the 80,000 ft2 green rooftop deck and you’ll find gardens, gazebos, fire pits, outdoor pools and hot tub, cabanas and running trail.
Over 28,000 ft2 of meeting space make this Blu an ideal venue for MICE professionals. Approximately half of this space is dedicated to the Atlantic Ballroom, offering stunning views of Lake Michigan through floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace. The remaining space comprises 14 configurable meeting rooms.
