Tourism and cultural activities

Dublin is more than just a great conference location. Combining a solid reputation for education and innovation, with great accessibility, it is no coincidence that Dublin is now the European headquarters of many of the world’s leading corporations, and a centre for academic research and innovation. As the home to many of the world’s top ICT, Financial and Pharmaceutical corporations, it is a serious place to do business.
Yet, Dublin has not forgotten its roots and is steeped in a rich cultural heritage that begs to be explored. All year round, the city is alive with music, art and theatre of all kinds and, of course, art galleries and museums abound. All complemented by an impressive range of restaurants, cafés and shops, where delegates are often surprised by the city’s competitiveness and value for money.
With a range of government initiatives and incentives available to support your association or corporate conference bid, and one of Europe’s most esteemed conference venues at hand, Dublin is the ideal destination for any and all events.

Dublin Airport is just 15 minutes from The CCD and serves over 175 routes – including direct flights to all major UK and European cities and daily flights to the Emirates and several North American cities. The Airlink airport shuttle bus stops directly outside the building, while taxi and car hire services are also easily available.

Dublin Bus offers a high frequency, accessible service across all of the city centre and surrounding areas. These services include city bus services, Airlink, Nitelink and DART feeder buses. Easy-to-use weekly tickets and top-up ‘Leapcards’ are available.

The Luas Red Line (Dublin’s light tram network) stops directly behind The CCD, conveniently linking to downtown Dublin and to Connolly and Heuston rail stations.

The CCD is less than 10 minutes (by the Luas Red Line) from Dublin’s two main railway stations, Connolly and Heuston. Operated by Irish Rail, these stations serve all the major towns and cities in Ireland. The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) rail network provides transport around the city centre and to suburban areas. Connolly, Pearse Street and Tara Street DART stations are all located about 10 minutes’ walk from The CCD.

The CCD is just minutes away from Ireland’s M50 motorway network and Dublin’s Port Tunnel, making it easy to bring in supplies and equipment for your event. The CCD also has its own underground car park, over 2,000 spaces located in car parks nearby, and considerable on street ‘pay and display’ parking on adjoining roads.

Dublin is a small and compact city with a great transport infrastructure, making it easy to get around and meaning nothing is ever too far away! Offering an excellent road, rail and tram network, over 10,000 taxis and a fantastic bike hire scheme, your delegates will be spoilt for choice. The CCD’s close proximity and direct road links to Dublin Port and Rosslare Harbour also make it the perfect location for bringing in equipment or goods for your event from anywhere in Ireland, or overseas.
